I teach very motivated high school students. My students come from diverse backgrounds both culturally and financially. Our school is busting at the seams as we currently have about 1700 students on a campus designed to house 1200 -1400 students. Our school is also old and cannot support the technology we currently have, let alone the new technology we want to bring in. Physiology is an elective science course populated by college bound juniors and seniors. They are engaged, community-minded, energetic, and creative. They bring energy and enthusiasm every day. I have taught for 23 years and honestly still feel excited to go to school everyday because I have such amazing students. Many of my students have gone on to careers in the medical field. One student who thought he was going to drive a garbage truck because that was all he knew is currently in med school. Another had a career in broadcasting planned until he discovered a passion for physical therapy.
