My students are happy, energetic 2nd graders that come to school everyday ready to learn something new. Many of them come from low income areas and receive free or reduced lunch.
As a talented and committed educator, I want to provide my students with the tools necessary for them to be successful and enjoy school.
At the beginning of each year students are most concerned about their new school clothes and school supplies. Many of the supplies are just basic materials such as pencils, paper, and crayons. Parents are being asked to purchase more and more of these supplies each year. Many of the parents are not in a position to supply materials plus buy clothes. Lack of school supplies can affect the quality of education that children need in order to be successful. Having what they need, especially on the first day of school makes students feel good about themselves and builds self confidence.
