My students, ranging from first to third grade, are in a Special Day Class (SDC) and have a range of needs, including autism, Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH), and intellectual disabilities. Each child requires individualized support. Students with autism struggle with social communication, sensory sensitivities, and rigid behaviors, excelling in structured environments with specialized interventions. DHH students, with varying degrees of hearing loss, rely on visuals and sign language for communication and learning. Those with intellectual disabilities face cognitive challenges affecting academic and adaptive skills, needing a modified curriculum that focuses on life skills and social development. In my SDC, I provide personalized instruction and resources, ensuring each student gets the support they need to thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
