The fourth graders at my public school live in a low income area. Approximately 90% are on free or reduced lunch programs, and entered school speaking a language other than English. Though they are usually excited to learn, they often do not have many advantages or experiences to build upon in the classroom. This project will help them to get a better understanding of California's history by letting them experience a small part of it.
