Studies have shown that the early years of learning set the attitude and success of students' educational careers. In kindergarten, students develop phonological awareness, vocabulary, listening comprehension, and decoding fluency to become better readers and writers. This often starts as a listener and transfers when students practice and apply these newly learned skills to their own reading and writing.
Through the use of a Redcat voice amplifier system, students will be able to hear the teacher's voice, muffled by a mask or face shield, more clearly to comprehend and process the taught skills. While this system will not enhance learning from home, it will enhance learning in person. At-home learning allows the teacher to speak freely behind a camera and allows students to see the teacher's mouth talking without constraints. In kindergarten and other grade levels, students rely on the teacher's voice and sometimes lack independent reading skills to follow directions and/or comprehension of the newly taught skills.
I want my kindergarten students to start their educational career on the right path by minimizing the constraints COVID-19 has placed on their education and safety.
