My students enjoy reading about new adventures, people, and life situations. My high school is an urban, neighborhood, Title 1 school. Each day is spent building the students' reading skills. My students learn skills such as how to annotate a text, question a text, identify rhetorical & literary devices in a text, and many other reading strategies they will need for post-secondary success. Furthermore, my students also acquire the skills of how to discuss and respond to text in Socratic Seminar style. With a classroom library my students will gain valuable knowledge about different people, cultures, religions, and a plethora of other topics. Opening their world through reading is one of the greatest gifts! Thank you in advance for your donation.
