My students are very excited about learning and about being in band! Most of my students come from a relatively stable home and have the supplies they need to be successful. I still have to work hard to keep them motivated. I like to think that band is one of the classes that they look forward to! A small percentage of the school population qualifies for free and reduced lunches. Additionally, students can afford to have their own instrument, but need help with providing secondary instruments like french horn, tenor sax, string bass and tuba. Students do run out reeds and other essentials on occasion as well.
