Posture is foundational to critical elements of instrumental performance, such as breath control, tone production, and tuning. Thus it is essential that young instrumental musicians develop proper posture from the outset.
The use of seating, designed specifically for the teaching of proper posture, is key. The chairs currently in my band room are in dire need of replacement. This project would begin the process of rotating out broken chairs for new ones that are more durable and better for my students.
Funds for furniture purchases are very limited due to districtwide financial constraints. Your donation will help my economically disadvantaged students have a better chance to succeed.
