Providing students with equitable access to high quality education summons high quality resources. Unfortunately, our first obstacle is the lack of such materials. My requested materials would afford my students engaging tools to spark their interest about other communities. My students would have the opportunity to connect with relatable texts and cost effective content, directly relating to their daily life and technology.
By reading stories in Spanish related to the use and development of technology in other countries, students will compare their experience to the ones of teenagers in other countries, providing them with a context for learning about the impact of technologies across the world and how social media impacts communications in different communities.
This project weaves STEM into the Spanish curriculum by linking scientific principles to the use and impact of technology in the Spanish speaking world in Latin America and beyond.
