Hello! I am Mrs. Metcalfe, the proud music teacher of over 500 young children in the Holyoke Public Schools. I teach at H.B. Lawrence Elementary and Joseph Metcalf, which offers every student specials in Music, STEM, Physical Education, and Art. Over 87% of our students are classified as Economically Disadvantaged, so it is critical that we offer the best that we can in these subject areas right in house at school. In order for every child to have an equitable experience in music, every child must be afforded the same supplies, opportunities, and experiences as any child in any other community. I am passionate about working hard to create a music classroom for my K-3 students that looks, feels, and sounds like the best music classroom that a student can have. Every kid should touch an instrument, sing a song, move to music so that one day, they can choose to share music with others! Help me keep music alive!
