I am requesting funds to purchase 10 new Korg Tuners and clip-on microphones. It is important for students to be able to not only hear what in tune sounds like, but to check their own instruments before they even start to play.
Playing in tune is essential to being a good musician.
In orchestra, students can check their open strings before we tune as a class. In band, students are able to check the pitch tendencies of different notes and to do some self assessing on their progress. The progress students are able to make individually is astounding when it comes time to play as a full ensemble.
