My students need basic classroom supplies to succeed. My English Language Learners (ELLs) more so than ever. They come from a doubly disadvantaged situation where they come from low income homes and encounter a language barrier at school.
My classroom needs bilingual literature to help my students connect their home language with the English language. I am asking for Bilingual fairy tales to aid my ELLs in making connections between the different cultures of school and home. The Spanish picture dictionaries will aid my students in increasing their knowledge of academic vocabulary on a day to day basis. We will use the CD players to help them both see and hear the language of the literature.
