I have been a Kindergarten to Second Grade Special education teacher in a 6:1:1 Bilingual Chinese classroom for two years. I have a masters degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. I am dedicated and passionate about what I do. I could not imagine doing anything else.
My students are 5 to 6 years old with severe autism, and they are non-verbal.
In class, we use Assisted Technology and Pictures Exchange Communication System to communicate. My students are multi-sensory learners and they are visual and kinesthetic learners. They are very good at matching pictures, puzzles, and imitating actions when provided with visual supports.
