Students will utilize these Kindles as a way to increase their love for reading through independent reading, technology related responses to reading and research activities.
Students who struggle finding that "just right" book in the school's library can check out a digital book while in the classroom. The school district in which the students attend school has the ability to ensure that each student can check out a digital book, however many of the students do not have their own digital devices to utilize this resource.
Students will also be able to connect the Kindles to the school's Wi-Fi and complete small group research projects as well as respond to shared reading question prompts and respond to other students' thinking in relation to reading. Students who do not have electronic devices to bring to school on "bring your own device" days will have the opportunity to use the Kindles.
