I have six happy students with Autism who are verbal and non-verbal. Some are cognitively advanced while others are early learners. All of my students learn in different styles. Therefore, various adaptations to their learning style is incorporated by me as a classroom teacher. My school is a District 75 (P4K) school in Brooklyn, New York where we serve students with severe academic, communication and social delays. Students are with us as they would not be able to succeed in a regular school setting. They need small group instructions, speech and language services and often physical and occupational therapy. My students are lovely boys, who need a lot of encouragement and tasks they can master. They love to have fun, so music and arts are always part of our daily routine. They learn best through exploration ad hands-on materials, so it is of uttermost importance to give the them daily opportunity to do so.
