My school is has a poverty rate of 97%. We have students from African and Asian countries, and a high population of African-American students. My students love coming to music class, where they are allowed to create and have fun while learning music. As their teacher, I have high standards, and believe in each one of my students. I never give up on them or in what I feel I do to set a good example. I am very positive and create that kind of atmosphere in an area where times can be very challenging.
