Literacy is a MAJOR part of our kindergarten learning experience on a daily basis. In order to effectively reach each of my students, a large variety of activities are essential. Receiving this donation would provide a rich supply of resources that would be used during centers and small group activities. I am requesting a variety of inexpensive and fun literacy centers as well as a few math centers that will be great additions for independent and small group experiences.
I'm excited for the opportunity to receive an iPad for the students to take online literacy assessments, use supplemental materials in our literacy program, and have additional practice with literacy and math on the vast amount of educational apps available.
Finally, a printer would make it possible for me to quickly print differentiated literacy lessons to use immediately in the classroom. Currently, I use a shared printer on the other side of a very large school. If I need to print a handwriting page or literacy activity tailored specifically for a student that needs additional support, I would have to wait till the following day so I don't leave my class unattended. A printer in my own classroom would provide me with the materials to quickly print the pages my students need without leaving them or waiting till the following day to give them the extra support they need.
