The Earth Science unit is presented to students through a series of investigations, observations, experiments, active learning experiences, questions, and assessments. Students will learn that rocks can be identified by their properties. They will also learn that rocks can also be identified based upon how they are formed.
With hands-on investigations and observations, students will experience the effects of weathering and erosion. They will sort the rocks by their properties into categories. By the end of the unit, students will know Earth changes and how it is shaped through slow and rapid processes and the different types of rocks.
