My students entered school on the first day with a wide variety of intelligences and abilities. My district is home to a high percentage of students from low socio-economic situations—many did not have the resources to interactively learn before attending public school. Many could not recognize their own written names, but had an excitement and passion to start learning. Others came to school with basic knowledge and were ready to hit the ground running. Either way, my students are sponges and love learning something new everyday.
