The students in my class are 4-year-old children from an urban school district. Most of the students live at or below the poverty level and may have other factors that put them at risk for not graduating high school. We also have a very diverse population and currently have 7 languages other than English spoken by the students at home. Preschool is an important start for them. They need to not only to get ready for Kindergarten also need to prepare for future academic success. Our school is also in our first year of candidacy for the inter baccalaureate program of inquiry for the primary years.
