Students who read constantly develop expanded vocabularies, increased speed and confidence in a language, and the ability to use it in their original production of the language. My aim is to slowly develop an expansive library with varying topics of interests and at all levels for my classroom.
My students will use these books in one of two ways: either independent reading or whole-class assignments. My students will read these texts, be able to analyze the events and compare them to reality and/or American culture, and learn Spanish in a much more intimate way. Students will be able to learn about topics that interest them while simultaneously challenging themselves to become bilingual scholars inside and outside of the classroom.
