I teach in west Phoenix, in a Title 1 school. We have 89% free and reduced lunch and many of my students can't even afford basic school supplies. I work hard at helping my students believe in themselves and setting high expectations in both their academic life and personal life. Most of my students want to be the best person that they can be, but understand they have monetary limitations their counterparts across town do not and that often hurts their pride. We, as a school, work hard to help our kids strive for their personal best and help in every way we can.
