I am a 3rd generation teacher from Punjab, India. I was a NYC Teaching Fellow and currently teacher middle school and high school science. My grandfather (a Grammar and Social Studies teacher) opened a non-profit school for rural villagers and it is helping them learn three languages and multiple subjects to become informed about their world. My father was a history teacher in India.
