Our students love the opportunity to personally connect to what they learn in the classroom. For the past few years, our 8th grade English Language Arts (ELA) team has kicked off the year with reading the novel "Seedfolks". This novel has made it possible to culturally connect with our students and open the door for communication. The students love this novel and the activities that go along with it. Our current novels are well used and most are falling apart. We are a Title I school and funds are limited and our ELA department is in need of replacement novels.
