Over 95% of the students at our school receive free and reduced lunch. Economically, they are disadvantaged and this social concern shows itself in their school readiness. The students that I work with specifically are children who have been identified as requiring special education. Their needs vary greatly and include learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, behavior concerns and more. The good news is that they are so much more than their needs. They are students with wonderful personalities, creative ideas, and seemingly endless jokes. With the right support they shine both academically and socially!
