My students are wonderful. They come in everyday wanting to tell me story after story of the things that are going on in their lives. Getting them to put it down in writing is another story. I work at a very diverse school. Some of the student come from a very low income area and often come to school behind their peers. I want to create independent writers that will be successful throughout their life.
