I teach 3 - 5-year-old students in our district's pre-kindergarten program. Our program promotes social, emotional, developmental, and academic skills so that our students are prepared for their future. Our students are from many diverse cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. Pre-kindergarten programs that provide high-quality early-learning experiences for young children, followed by full-day kindergarten and other elementary reforms that sustain early learning gains, are a critical tool for improving student achievement and narrowing achievement gaps.
