The Robotics team is made up of 3rd and 4th grade students. 4 students are allowed on a team. My elementary currently has 2 teams, one 3rd grade and one 4th grade team, which currently only allows us to service 8 students in our school.
Engineering And Robotics Learned Young (EARLY) is a program that exposes our youth to engineering. It allows 7-12 year olds the opportunity to compete with surrounding schools 3 times a year. The competition robots are built from LEGO® Simple & Motorized Mechanisms Kits which have a comprehensive curriculum available for easy implementation into the classroom. The combination of curriculum and competition allows students to explore the STEM side of education. Many students who participate in Robotics competitions in elementary school continue to be on the Robotics team in middle school and beyond. many of them also join the STEM program that is available to ISD students in 5th grade and beyond.
