These books will be used as read alouds texts that model the critical skills of kindness, empathy, friendship throughout the year. Students will also have access to these books to put in their own book boxes and read during their independent reading time. New readers love re-reading stories that have been shared in class, appreciating the pictures up close and retelling the story as they enjoy the book.
These books will also be used as a daily opportunity for thoughtful in-class discussions about friendship, inclusion and ways that our class can spread kindness, empathy and inclusion within our school and beyond.
