My classroom is a special needs Autism/Cross Categorical class grades 9-12 (up to age 22) with students with varied ability levels. I work in a Title 1 School that has been acquired by a neighboring district. (Now Florence Unified School District) These students have daily challenges when learning and they come to school each day eager to learn and grow. They need support and to know that someone cares. They learn differently and at their own pace. Many are physically impaired and non-verbal. Teaching special needs is a calling for me - it is a second career - This career chose Me ! Each and every one of these kiddos have touched my life and brought me more joy than I can say!
