The students in my multi-grade elementary class are proud of their rural heritage, and the culture of our small school reflects that influence. We live in a region rich with history, and the children enjoy hearing stories from the past and learning about those who walked before us and shaped our community. But we are just one small corner of the great state of Colorado. Many of my students have not traveled much outside of our county. They are not very familiar with the geographical and economic diversity of Colorado, and they have not seen many of the noted landmarks and historic sites.
A library of fiction and nonfiction books about Colorado would enhance our study of this state by acquainting readers with the stories, history, and sites of Colorado.
Our small, public school operates on a limited budget, so we always appreciate resources that supplement our curriculum. My students love reading, and I know they will be excited to see the new books! Thank you for supporting this project.
