Teaching is by far the most rewarding job there is! This is my 20th year. My 3rd graders come to school every day with a smile on their faces and they can't wait to hear what they will be doing during the day.
Spending the day with the kids makes me feel younger than I am. They give me energy just watching their energy.
My students teach me as much as I teach them. I have had many moments this year and in the past where a pupil's comment hits home and changes my outlook on life or a comment that is so funny it makes me laugh with them. For example: On my birthday one year a little girl asked me how old I was. I told her my age. She proceeded with her mouth open to show her surprise and responded - "Wow Ms. Sneddon, you are going to look so young when you die." I can't tell you how hard I laughed.
