My classroom is a family of eager learners who face challenges each day due the economic struggles of our community. It is my mission that each one of my "kids" comes to school every day knowing that they are loved and excited to learn. Our Title I school serves 100% free and reduced lunch, with nearly all students from low income households.
My 6 and 7 year olds cope with many "adult" obstacles, but come to school with smiling faces and positive attitudes. Our school and community has bonded together in fighting these obstacles by engaging our students with meaningful lessons and activities. We strive to "set the stage for success" for each and every student, and to assure them that school is a safe place where they come to help mold their futures.
