We will be able to social distance and still gather for a story or lesson on the carpet, instead of sitting on the hard tile floor where they fidget and squirm. I love to read to my students, especially Dr. Seuss books (her favorite)! We also need a soft rug for our Calming Corner. Students can go there when they get upset or frustrated to spend a few minutes refocusing. We have lots of fidget toys, pillows and worksheets with calming exercises students can do on their own without disrupting other classmates.
