The room dividers, cozy lounger, and calming cuddle ball will be used daily, in the classroom, as a strategy to help my students calm down when they feel overwhelmed. Quiet areas are a safe place for students with autism to retreat to when they need to stim or feel overstimulated. I am a first year teacher with fresh ideas and aspirations for my students and classroom. At the moment, my classroom does not have a welcoming and calming space for my students. The dividers I have are bright (overstimulating) and old/broken. I want more than anything have this in my classroom for their daily needs. Thank you for considering helping out my classroom.
