Spinning Wheels is more than a bicycle repair shop; it is a forum to increase literacy skills through hands-on activities. Students will improve reading skills by researching financial literacy, bicycle repair, advertising and marketing. We need a laptop and printer for inventory, invoicing and general business needs.
Students will develop social skills that will carry them into the workplace as they learn to collaborate and use developmentally appropriate written and oral communication skills. All of these skills will be integrated via the theme of financial literacy and small business management. They will become “workforce ready” by using their experiences to create a comprehensive portfolio of business/job skills.
Spinning Wheels will help to transform our special education students into independent and lifelong learners.
