As we do various experiment in class during the year, students are asked to record and process the changes that are occurring. I am requesting ten digital thermometers which will allow students to collect and record this data. These thermometers will be used as students look at temperature changes for different chemical reactions. They will see if there is a change in the temperature of the vinegar as baking soda is added. They will then look at the temperature of other reactions where the changes are both dramatic and some that are subtle. The thermometers will allow them to know how hot or cold something gets. It will also help them to become more familiar with Celsius.
