Technology has become increasingly useful as students bring 21st-century skills into a classroom. Language learning is most effective when students are able to find authenticity and relevance in their communication. The virtual reality headsets blend both technology and relevance, helping us travel the world from our small classroom! In doing so, a student can be in the center of Antigua, Guatemala at 8 in the morning and presenting to our class about the market by 9. The ability to "explore" these countries with ease can help bring our learning to life.
A donation to our project helps students experience cultures and communities that are seemingly impossible to reach. Students will be able to take virtual tours, interact with historic landmarks and figures, and find their individual passions as they are reflected around our globe. As our world becomes increasingly connected, we can give students an opportunity to begin building bridges that enhance their language-learning experience!
