My students last year inspired me to find the math tools that I have selected for this project. They loved coming to small group math because they got to use the erasable pens and markers as well as ultra thin Expos. One student brought a Boogie Board to class one day and it was a hit for math class. So, I selected Boogie boards for students to have more fun with math while also reducing paper use. I love teaching math and I want my students to find their joy for math too. I have also selected tools that will help them engage with the math and find their joy for it too. The math tools were selected to help my students grasp the more difficult math concepts that are learned in 5th grade. I would like more students to be excited for when it is their turn to work in a small group with me and fresh and engaging math tools will help with that.
