I teach third graders in the inner city. My class has both "typical" students as well as those with special needs. The school itself has students from pre-k to 8th grade in it. All of our students qualify for the free lunch program based on federal income guidelines. We use the Daily 5 (a strategy to structure the reading time) and CAFE and my students really enjoyed working at the reading and writing stations around the room. We do many different small groups and like to share our work and ideas. This year I will teach one group of Third graders all subjects while partnering with the other Third grade teacher, Intervention Specialist and Small Group Teacher as well.
