I spend most of my day as the reading specialist in a middle school. I also am fortunate enough to use my special education background and co-teach literacy one period a day. I work with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. My population is very unique and diverse. Each student has different skills, strengths, and learning styles. I love getting to interact daily with these awesome, growing minds.
Working as both a reading specialist and special education teacher in the literacy environment, many of my students have experienced difficulties revolving around reading and writing. I believe it is my job to keep them interested, intrigued and excited about school and learning! I strive to keep all lessons engaging and fresh and to providing students with choice and voice in what they read.
