I keep my classroom open and fun while encouraging students to work hard. Students are expected to work in cooperative groups both with their table partners and classmates outside their group. All activities are STEAM based, with a majority of them provided by Project Lead the Way (PLTW). Specifically I teach 3 different sections:
Introduction to Computer Science - Students develop apps for Android devices, and are able to deploy the apps to a device for testing.
Gateway to Technology - Students develop skills in the design process and create 3D models both physically and digitally. They also learn how to construct several gear systems, are then challenged to develop machines using that knowledge.
Gateway to Technology 2 - Students practice and then generate science labs to answer questions about chemistry. This leads into the use of electricity in basic circuits.
