My first grade students are bright and inquisitive.
They attend a K-5 elementary in a low socio-economic area southeast of Los Angeles. Part of LAUSD, it is school-wide Title I where the majority of students qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced Breakfast and Lunch Program. These students love school, love to learn, and love one another. Every day I see evidence of this in the way that they encourage each other, share with one another, and treat each other with care and respect.
