This project will bring the San Francisco ZooMobile with animals to our school so my students can participate in the "Shifting the Balance" lesson provided by the zoo's educators. The San Francisco Zoo brings curriculum that is designed with the Next Generation Science Standards in mind, making this visit up-to date and aligned with the State's changing science standards for education. The San Francisco ZooMobile's "Shifting the Balance" lesson is designed to explore the largest threats to animals and their habitats nearby and abroad, along with what each of us can do (both individually and together) to restore nature's balance on our planet. We will be finishing up our unit on Human Populations and Impact, and this visit will bring a new and real-life context to the concepts we have been learning.
