My class is diverse both in student needs as well as student abilities. My students are all in the mild interventions special education program. They have various ability levels and are in this class to prepare them for life after high school.
Our school was hit hard by the recession in 2008 and is just now showing signs of recovery. We have over 1800 students who come through our doors on a daily basis. A fair portion of the students are on the free and reduced rate lunch program (55.5%) and we are trying to show them how to live within their means with what they have to do. We have made the best of our situation but often find budget to be an issue when trying to gain access to the opportunities we seek for our kids.
