The resources I have requested directly relate to advancing academics by stimulating a natural curiosity to learn through play. Games and activities will drive home concepts and challenge students to reach their full learning potential. Games are appealing to a variety of learning styles, as well as, create differentiated instruction required to meet each student at their individual need level. Academic growth in Math and Literacy will be achieved through meaningful play.
Play based learning is a proven method in Early Childhood education. Implementing educational games with practical application and solid teacher instruction will aid in bridging learning gaps being faced. To help students learn amid the pandemic games will enhance units and better engage students. Bringing my dream learning environment to life would require games that can be seamlessly embedded into center rotations, teacher table and student led learning groups. My overall goal with implementing more games and activities is to offer my students an array activities to practice what is being taught.
In addition to the academic benefits of games, they play a definite roll in social and emotional growth as well. Students are required to be effective communicators and good problem solvers when playing. There is no way to measure exactly how much students have been affected by the pandemic. But, what I do know is that we must be intentional with our time moving forward to nurture student's overall well being. It is my goal to equip every child in my classroom with a quality educational foundation that in turn will foster a lifelong love of learning
