I am blessed to teach a group of amazing verbal and non-verbal Special Education Life Skills students at RES. The classroom consists of 3-5 grade students with disabilities. Our school is in a rural community, which serves most bilingual students and continues to be a Title 1 school. The students, aides, and I push hard to be part of our school community. We try to teach our students to be independent and to be their own advocates.
Our class shares iPads with the large body of students at our school for a short 30 minute, once a week. Daily repetition through differentiated activities with the iPad is needed for their progress to increase. I believe that having the iPad daily, is an innovative way to help provide communication and language building for the students.
