My student's exposure to technology outside of school is limited. We are lucky enough to have an iPad cart in the classroom, but, without headphones we have limited capabilities of what we can do with them. Headphones will allow my lower level students to listen to books read aloud and to work on skills missed to help them get on grade level. All students will be able to listen to educational videos, tutorials, and apps independently without distracting students around. It will also help my students FOCUS on their work on their iPads when there is not noise distractions from other student's iPads. Due to the socioeconomic status of most of my students, they are unable to purchase headphones for themselves, and budget cuts to schools makes a large request like this unable to be fulfilled.
