I need students to be engaged in my classroom, not just watch me do my thing.
Through the use of props, students become a part of the show instead of just watching it.
They will arrive to class that has been decorated to look like a construction site with caution tape, street signs and more. They will put on their safety glasses, safety vest and hard hat and begin creating a cityscape. In a later activity, students will use their black caps as another costume for a spy activity. They will also have a fun review activity later in the semester that will involve the bean boozled game.
I do all of these wacky activities because I want them to want to participate in class.
