These Instrument storage racks are going to have a significant impact on music student's school experience. Our K-8 school is filled to the brim with students, and does not have the proper storage space or instructional space for an orchestra program.
Currently, our large instruments are laid out on the floor underneath computer desks in the hybrid orchestra room/computer lab. This is a safety issue for both instruments and students- many students have come into the small classroom and while trying to walk around the ensemble, tried to step over the instruments on the floor and tripped or knocked them over. When a class comes in to use the computers in the afternoon, I spend time moving all of the instruments to the middle of the room and "barricade" them so that other classes know not to move them. Otherwise, the instruments get kicked from students sitting at the computer desks.
Our school has spend a significant amount of money on repairing these instruments, and could put the money to better use if we have what we need to store the instruments properly.
